Mending Tales Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Overview
Mending Tales ("the App") is a jigsaw puzzle game made by Ullim. This privacy policy explains how the App handles information.
No account; progress stays on your device
The App has no sign-up or sign-in. Your progress, such as completed scenes, the piece count you chose and where you left off, is stored on your device. If device backup (iCloud or Google backup) is on, it may be included in your backup like other app data. Deleting the App deletes your progress.
Story downloads
The first story is built into the App; pictures for later stories are downloaded from Firebase Hosting (Google). This sends ordinary request information, such as your IP address and device and connection details, to Google; nothing that identifies you is sent.
App usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)
To improve the game, we collect events such as opening a story, starting, finishing or leaving a scene, the piece count you chose, time taken, whether you used Edges only, Peek or hints, turning background music or sound effects on or off, marking a story as liked, use of the ad and purchase screens and whether you bought Remove Ads, along with device model, OS, app version, country and approximate location inferred from IP address, and an identifier created for each installation, and the group you were randomly assigned to in a screen layout experiment (such as which story the lobby shows first). This data is not linked to you and is kept for 14 months. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, it is collected only if you allow it in the ads and analytics consent prompt, and you can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy choices. Likes you leave on stories are added up once a day per story, and for stories liked on 30 or more devices, the App shows the count to everyone as "N likes". The count is a number of devices (app installations) and does not show who liked a story. To compute it, app usage analytics data is processed in Google BigQuery. The underlying analytics data is kept for 14 months as above, and the per-story totals (which do not show who liked a story) are kept for as long as they are shown in the App.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the App crashes, we collect crash information (where the error occurred, device model, OS version, app version, Firebase installation ID) to fix the cause, kept for 90 days.
Advertising
The App shows rewarded ads, only when you choose to watch one, through Google AdMob. The first story can be played without ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the App asks separately for your consent to ads and analytics. On iOS, it asks for tracking permission in every region (in the EEA and similar regions, after the consent prompt); if you allow it, you see personalized ads, otherwise non-personalized ads, and the App works the same either way. On Android, personalized ads use your device's advertising ID; you can turn off ad personalization in your device settings. Google uses the advertising identifier and an approximate location inferred from your IP address for personalized ads and ad measurement; even with non-personalized ads, approximate location may be used to show locally relevant ads and to prevent fraud.
Remove Ads purchase
If you buy Remove Ads (₩4,900 in Korea), RevenueCat stores an anonymous purchaser ID created for each installation and your purchase record (product, transaction identifier, purchase time and store country). Purpose: verifying and restoring your purchase. Payment is processed by the App Store or Google Play; neither the App nor we receive your payment method or card details. To have your purchase record deleted, send us the order ID from your Apple receipt (starting with MT) or your Google Play order number (starting with GPA.) and the date of purchase using the contact below. Deleting it removes Remove Ads on that device; you can get it back with Restore Purchases. Payment and refund records are kept by Apple or Google under their own policies and applicable law.
International transfers
Google LLC (United States): Firebase Analytics, BigQuery, Crashlytics, Hosting and AdMob. RevenueCat, Inc. (United States): verifying and restoring Remove Ads purchases. Data is sent over the network when you use the App and kept as described above. Transfers from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland to the United States rely on the safeguards each company uses, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
App usage analytics and personalized ads are based on your consent; crash reports and story downloads on our legitimate interest in providing a stable App; purchase verification on performing our contract with you. You can change your consent at any time in Settings › Privacy choices.
Your rights
With no account, the App cannot identify you. Progress on your device is deleted with the App. To request access, deletion or restriction of analytics data, crash data or purchase records, or to object, contact us below. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children
The App is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
Changes
If this privacy policy changes, we will post the update on this page.
